The campaign is designed to raise awareness of such appalling ecological issue as litter among children and young people and is aimed at encouraging the younger generation to make ecologically conscious choices. The geography of the campaign is said to embrace 15 countries, such as the UK (Northern Ireland), United States, China, Greece, Lithuania, Croatia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Uganda, Canada, Romania, Germany and France.

Due to the support from the Wrigley Company Foundation, FEE will launch two programs in education establishments such as ‘Eco-Schools’ and ‘Young Reporters for Environment’.

In course of ‘Eco-school’ program, children aged between 5-12 years will be tasked with designing and developing their own anti-litter projects, or organising a Litter Less event at their school. Students 12-18 years involved in the YRE program, will be invited to act as ‘journalists’, whose task is to investigate and report on the problem of litter.

Wrigley President and President of the Wrigley Company Foundation Dushan Petrovich, said, «We are very excited about the Litter Less campaign. Its hands on involvement of children in creating a cleaner environment will promote a meaningful change in attitude towards littering. FEE’s expertise and multi-national programming harnesses the energy and creativity of bright young students around the world empowering them to transform their communities. This partnership further builds on Wrigley’s long history of supporting litter prevention initiatives and promoting responsible behaviour.»
