Xbox360’s Halo 4 Glyph «Has Invaded» the London Night Sky with the Help of AKQA

Even those Londoners who are absolutely indifferent to games in general and newly released Xbox360’s «Halo 4″ in particular, couldn’t have missed a spectacular aerial lighting performance, which the game publisher organised yesterday to celebrate the launch of the next blockbuster installment in the UK.

Visible for miles over London, flying and illuminated with 455 LED light strips giant “Halo 4” Glyph symbol was the largest and brightest construction (50 feet in diameter and over 3 tons in weight) to ever be flown by helicopter.

Eight companies, led by digital agency AKQA, joined forces to make this aeronautical show happen. Cinimod performed as the lighting art performance partner, Helirig as the helicopter operator, Archer’s Mark as the video production partner. AKQA has also partnered with twofifteenmccann, Wunderman, SMG and Roundhouse for other Halo 4 launch activities.

Prior to experiential show in London, Microsoft EMEA has held Halo 4 launch events in Seattle, USA, and Liechtenstein.
