Canon, the renowned photo-equipment producer, has arranged a creative contest for people who love when stories are continued. The competition at Vimeo.com is started by the photographer Vincent Laforet, who shot The Cabbie story on the basis of just 2 stills — one in the beginning and one in the end. This is the first chapter of seven, which are to create a real long story.
Submissions for the next chapter are to be sent by February 11. The film entries must be HD (720p or higher) and be between 2-4 minutes in length. They must begin will the image in the end of the Vincent Laforet’s opening video, interpret it to carry on the story telling and end with a still image made by contestants.]
The winner chosen by the jury will be announced February 25 and get a choice of Canon EOS 7D or 5D Mark II, a choice of select Canon lenses, a year-long Vimeo Plus membership and a great opportunity to go and shoot a short film with Vincent Laforet. There will be 6 segment period, with the last one finishing on September 8, 2010.
