Coca-Cola: Be the Recycling King!

Another great example of the smart online campaign comes from Coca-Cola, has been recently launched in Israel. It encourages consumers to recycle their old bottles at 10, 000 recycling bins that had been placed all over the country and given their own Facebook Places.

Facebook Places is supposed to be a great tool for retail marketing, but it can be also successfully used for social advertising, as a recent campaign by Coca-Cola in Israel clearly proves.Thousands participated shared the recycling experience with their friends by checking in and uploading photos, and the most active participant was crowned ‘Recycling King.’

Developed by Publicis, the campaign was aimed to raise consumers’ awareness for recycling plastic bottles and at the same time making fun of it. It had created big buzz online as one of the most successful social media events in Israel. This clear, fun and smart example of Coca-Cola initiative surely will be followed by the other brands caring for community and environmental ‘health’.
