The airline raises funds through in-flight recycling program and helps build homes for those in need together with the non-profit organization ‘Habitat for Humanity‘ (HfH). So far, Delta employees have helped to build 199 homes in 11 countries where HfH operates.

As part of its ongoing corporate responsibility program Force for Global Good, the company has announced that 2,300 employees will will invest physical efforts and time into building single-family houses in six cities of America: Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis/St. Paul, New York City, Seattle, and Los Angeles.

The new project of building  began September 8th and continues through October 17th. Additionally to investing time and efforts, the company funds the construction process through its in-flight recycling program. Since 2007, Delta has collected and recycled 8.5 million pounds of aluminum cans, plastic bottles and other trash from flights to fund HfH’s building projects.

The list of philanthropic causes on Delta’s corporate agenda is not limited to building affordable homes. The company’s employees are also encouraged to donate money, blood, give hope, inspiration, meals, smiles, life skills, and more.
