Derrick Rose Returns to Adidas Global Basketball

adidas unveils a new adidas Global Basketball campaign with Derrick Rose who is getting ready to come back to big sport after surgery on his torn left anterior cruciate ligament.

Derrick Rose has been collaborating with adidas for various campaign including the promotion of adiZero Rose 2 and ‘adidas is all in’ campaign.

After the surgery on May 12, doctors said it would be 8 to 12 months before the one of the most valuable Bulls player could return to his team. Supporting the athlete, adidas in collaboration with 180LA created a digital video ‘The Return of D Rose’. This is a teaser for a multi-episode documentary that debuted this week on the adidas Basketball Facebook page.

The documentary provides viewers with a behind-the-scenes look at Derrick’s recovery in many previously hidden aspects of his life like his closest friends and family. Fans will be able to get closer to their favorite’s privacy and stay in touch with him as he recovers. Exclusive video content, product and other engagement activities will support the documentary.

“Everyone can participate to drive the comeback of the player that has redefined the game since entering the league. Fans can get inside access at the adidas Basketball Facebook page and join The Return @adidasHoops on Twitter with #TheReturn,” says adidas.

Lawrence Norman, vice president of global basketball for Adidas wrote in an email to Oregon Live that Derrick’s recovery was highly important for the company since he was injured in April and fans gave a lot of support so Rose wanted to give something back—some inspirational footage.
