DOVE Men+Care Continues the ‘Journey to Comfort’ Series

DOVE Men+Care invited three NCAA celebrities to share their life-stories as part of the brand’s ‘Journey to Comfort’ project—the video series, launched in summer 2010, in which sport stars reveal their personal milestones that shaped their own identity and helped feel comfortable in their skin, both on the field or court and off it. Basketball legend Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson, Georgetown Head Coach John Thompson III and Duke point guard Bobby Hurley joined the roster of other celebrated sports stars, including Albert Pujols, Andy Pettitte, Drew Brees and Joe Girardi, who shared their childhood, married lives and career memories last year.

Unilever’s male grooming brand is aimed at providing ultimate care to its male consumers, which helps them literally feel comfortable in their own skin. The launch of the new series coincides (or, most probably, is dedicated to) with the release of new products in the line—DOVE Men+Care Antiperspirants/Deodorants and Sensitive Clean Personal Wash. In the episodes, the sports stars shared a look in their personal achievements by telling about moments which taught them how important it is to care about themselves and their families and always remain confident.

In the new episodes, the celebrities highlight their paths to personal success and tell about the joys they experienced and difficulties they faced. “I can really relate to the Dove Men+Care ‘Journey to Comfort’ because it has truly been a journey for me having to find comfort in new roles throughout my life off the basketball court such as becoming an entrepreneur,” says Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson, who won an NCAA championship as a kid, played in the NBA, won a gold medal in the Olympics and then became a successful businessman.

The online destination also invites fans to answer NCAA-themed questions for a chance to win tickets to the upcoming games.

The new episodes, which are now available on www.dovemencare.com, will be also broadcast throughout NCAA March Madness programming.
