Durex and Boyband JLS Launch a New Condoms Range in the UK

British boyband JLS launched a new range of Durex condoms dubbed “Just Love Safe,” which is believed to contribute into the safe sex movement and will encourage young people in the UK (especially, fans of the band) to use latex protection when they’re making love.

Starting September 9, the product is sold in four different colour packets featuring the faces of Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, Oritsé Williams and JB Gill, the members of the band which became popular after the performances on The X Factor in 2008. The new range, which is to be sold only to consumers over 16 years old, will also help develop social projects, as all the the proceeds from selling the product will be used for supporting worthy causes through the JLS Charitable Foundation, which was recently established by the music group.

Today, the issue of safe sex in the UK is really worth to be paid attention to as this county is one of the states with the highest rates of sexually transmitted deceases as well as teenage pregnancy in Europe. The members of JLS hope that their popularity will help raise safe sex awareness among young adults and draw puplic’s attention to healthier choices.

“’We came up with the idea of Just Love Safe as we wanted to send a clear message out to fans that are over 16 and sexually active—and that is to always use a condom during sex,” commented Marvin.

Martyn Ward, managing director of Durex in the UK, stated, “We applaud JLS for taking the responsible step of setting up a charity which will benefit good causes in the UK. It is very responsible of JLS to put their name to a range of condoms—and we were delighted that they partnered with Durex to do so.”

Recently, Durex also launched a creative contest, encouraging its British consumers to create a new commercial for the brand.
