Google for Non-Profits—Major Project Update Announced

Google is giving a helping hand to those whose everyday job includes lending a helping hand to other people from around the world that suffer from hunger, serious diseases, wars, natural and technological disasters, environmental issues, etc.)

Recently Google has quietly released Google for Nonprofits—series of digital tools designed to help a non-profit organization expand its online activity and boost its search engine exposure. The project allows non-profit organizations register for such Google-owned projects as Google AdWords and Google Analytics and access them from a single page. More than that, Google for Non-profits offers users a variety of perks such as privileged exposure on YouTube and discounted or free consultations from a range of Google-certified companies providing professional support on Google tools mentioned above.

According to mashable.com, once a non-profit organization  is approved (it must be a registered 501(c)(3) in the U.S.), it will be granted access to Google’s range of non-profit tools that includes up to $10,000 a month in advertising in Google AdWords, free or discounted access to Google Apps, premium features on YouTube and mapping technologies powered by Google Earth.

But now Google has announced the service update. Google for Non-Profits will be expanded with three more sections. The first one will include series of instructional videos that will help non-profits maximize their use of the tools offered. The second addition is ‘Make A Change’ section showcasing most impressive success stories of non-profit organizations. The third addition is ‘Google for Non-Profits Marketplace‘—a destination for registered users to connect with worldwide network of Google-certified partners specializing in a variety of Google products.

Kirsten Olsen Cahill, the project’s product marketing manager, told to Mashable.com, “What we saw happening was non-profits were ecstatic about these offerings but just because they were a Google Grant recipient didn’t mean they knew about all the other tools that were available. We streamlined the process and reduced the time they need to wait.”
