KLM promotes economy comfort seats with a social-media contest

KLM is promoting comfort economy seats that have up to 10 cm extra legroom compared to a regular Economy Class seat with a new micro campaign that calls the audience to tell their own stories of comfort. The travelers are encouraged to share what comfort means to them through a dedicated Facebook app, KLM Get Comfy, for a chance to win two Economy Comfort tickets.

The competition is running from February 6-28, urging the participants to share photos on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter using the #KLM Get Comfy hashtag. Users are asked to vote for the images, “loves” won’t be counted. Fifteen images of ultimate comfort that will generate the most votes will be shortlisted as finalists, and the jury will select just one entry of them that will be awarded the grand prize. The competition is open to residents of 30+ countries.

KLM is sure that 10 cm is a great difference, especially when it comes to space between seats in the aircrafts.  Plus, the seat’s back reclines twice as far compared to the regular seats. There’s also one important upgrade—on Boeing 737 aircraft, the seats in the Economy Comfort zone, available on almost all KLM flights, also feature a power socket, so it’s easy to change the portable computer device or phone “on the fly.”
