Not every homeless person is as lucky as Ted Williams. Just a few days ago he was panhandling, but with the help of a YouTube clip that quickly went viral, Mr. Williams’ golden voice has landed him a job with Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, one of America’s most iconic brands.
As his first job in many years, Mr. Williams was in New York City where he taped voice-overs for four new Kraft Macaroni & Cheese TV spots that will air throughout the year. The spots are part of the ‘You know you love it’ campaign that launched in May 2010. His first ad debuted during the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl in San Francisco on ESPN, January 9, 2011. The event is the culmination of the Huddle to Fight Hunger, Kraft Foods’ integrated marketing campaign designed to give 20 million meals or more to Feeding America, the nation’s leading hunger relief organization.
«Like many others, KRAFT Macaroni & Cheese and our ad agency were moved by Mr. Williams’ story. We were in the middle of making our TV spots and in a unique position to help Ted use his great voice to gain employment,» said Noelle O’Mara, Brand Manager, KRAFT Macaroni & Cheese. «KRAFT Macaroni & Cheese has a tradition of bringing families together and helping those in need and we’re thrilled to help Ted on his journey to re-establish himself.»
In addition to Mr. Williams’ voice-overs during the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl, two other spots featuring his voice will air during the live Golden Globes telecast on NBC, Sunday, January 16, 2011.
