Levi’s S501XX 1944 by Original Fake

The oldest jeans brand Levi’s has collaborated with the Original Fake creative group from Japan to design a new collection of vintage denim clothing. The new S501XX 1944 set is made in style of the war times, when the the Arcuate stitching on the denim over-alls was painted manually due to raw-materials saving.

The pockets are decorated with so-called teeth-pattern, which is painted white. The economy of materials also drove the manufacturer to cut down on garments to help conservation during the WWII. So, these jeans also do not have cinch back and coin pocket rivet, which had been on the trousers before the war.

Last year Levi’s and Original Fake made a similar collection, but that time the ‘teeth’ on the jeans were multi-colored. The pair of denim trousers can be purchased for ¥ 36,750 at the Japanese Levi’s store starting on February 27. The aim of the launch is to remind the consumers of the Levi’s heritage.
