McDonald’s Monopoly Free Parking

McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada commissioned the Cossette West marketing communication agency to create a new ambit campaign, involving the Monopoly signs as the main symbol. The project was implemented in Vancouver.

While the campaign was running, 1,500 drivers landed in free parking spots. The local radio stations told commuters where around the city they could find free parking spots with the famous Monopoly Free Parking from the iconic game board. Still, the informing via radio was hardly needed – the bright billboards were so huge and eye-catching, that they could be easily seen even at a far distance.

McDonald’s launched the campaign in October, making another contribution to the vast portfolio of the game-themed promotional project of the fast-food chain. The Monopoly-tagged campaign has been running since 1987.
