Microsoft Launches Windows 8

Microsoft Corp. has finally released the latest edition of its operating system—Windows 8 is available on the global market starting today, October 26. To celebrate the launch of the long-awaited product, the company has released an impressive video, showcasing the world preparing for the new release across 140 markets beginning at 12:01 a.m. at local time.

Windows 8 will be available for download in 37 languages in several versions, Windows 8, Windows 8 Pro and Windows 8 Enterprise to enable users enjoy the upgrades on all professional levels. In addition, the company has developed Windows RT, a version of Windows 8 developed for tablets. “Windows 8 features the new fast and fluid Start screen that gives people one-click access to the apps and content they care most about. It also features an entirely new Internet Explorer 10 that is perfect for touch, and built-in cloud capabilities with SkyDrive,” says the press release.
