MINI Countryman Falls Victim to Yarn Bombing

MINI Countryman, a car model in the center of the US campaign entitled Wonderlust, of which we reported about last Friday, now gets a new colorful sweater. This small car is now in the spotlight of the new art project featuring ‘knitta’ artist Magda Sayegis. Magda creates her masterpieces by… knitting, or what is now called yarn bombing. She covers tree trunks, poles, monuments and even buses in multicolor knitted close-fitting coats.

So, last week Magda was commissioned with a new picnic sweater for MINI countryman. This was a second event in course of MINI Countryman Wonderlust campaign that took place near Austin, Texas.

After the ‘yarn bomb’ was complete and MINI countryman got dressed in its new sweater, Magda took all her friends on a ride to celebrate spring in Texas. They had a picnic out of the city.

«After we indulged ourselves in our wanderlust and the wrapping of a MINI Countryman, we sat down in the Texas spring with some friends and Franklin BBQ for a picnic. That had to be Knitta’d too, of course,» Magda wrote in her blog.

That was the second event in course of Wonderlast campaign launched by MINI and designed to bring party experiences to different US cities in April and May and establish communication with prospective young customers.
