Adopting the idea employed by another player on the auto market, Honda Jazz, MINI Canada offers its fans to stuff all of their friends into just one vehicle. The brand is encouraging Facebook users to gather all their online buddies and see how many of them can fit into MINI Countryman model. The more people you manage to invite to get into the car, the higher is the chance of winning the vehicle.
The brand is promoting the initiative in Toronto by sending eight holiday elves to the streets of Canada’s megalopolis—the girls dressed as the famous Christmas characters are inviting passers-by to visit the festive spots with the experience the small but spacious model, encouraging them to tap into the competition, which is running from November 9 through December 30.
“Bringing our virtual contest live to the streets of Toronto lets us interact with our customers and fans in a hands-on and engaging way,” said John Cappella, Director, MINI Canada. “That is what MINI is all about – being extroverted and socially energetic. Our Facebook contest is the epitome of that desire to interact; taking it to the streets is the proof of our energy.”
The goal is to show how many of your friends can get into the model and feel comfortable there. Canada residents are invited to join by visiting the dedicated tab on the Facebook page of the brand and them select people from the Friends list, who are expected to accept the invitation to hop into a MINI Countryman the will and help win (the more friends agree to sign up, the higher is the chance to win). The overall winner will be determined by January 12 througha random draw, which will be conducted from all entries received during the contest period.
