Sollys, the Nestlé Brazil’s brand, is sponsoring a vertical running competition, which will take place on August 29 in São Paulo. The participants of the sportive event will be climbing the stairs of 142-meter high Nestlé building, which is one of the tallest ones in the world with its 31 flights and 765 steps.
Starting yesterday, sprinters can go to the www.corridavertical.com.br website to study the rules of vertical running and enroll for the upcoming event. Nestlé and Vertical World Circuit are encouraging both professionals and newbies in this sport to try and reach the very top of one of the tallest offices in the world. The list of participating buildings also includes Taipei 101 (Xinyi District, Taipei, Taiwan), the Empire State Building (New York), Swissôtel The Stamford (Singapore) and other skyscrapers in Italy, UK, Switzerland, Germany, Australia and Spain.
The participants will be divided into three categories (so called elite runners, athletes and amateurs) and will choose different strategies of literally running or even skipping every two steps in the effort to show the best results possible or just break their personal records just for fun. The estimated time for running up 765 stairs is four minutes (by elite runners), and this is a great opportunity to prove that this result can be improved.
The ultimate goal of the event is to remind that walking up- and downstairs on a regular basis can help get fit and healthy without working out in a gym.
