Nike and TomTom Released a Line of Smart GPS Watches for Runners

Summer is a perfect season to get into sports, and Nike’s products help us to re-connect with this universe of physical activity. The iconic sportswear brand has teamed up with TomTom, the world’s leading provider of location and navigation products and services, to create a new collection of intuitive Nike+ SportWatch GPS, which allow runners track their achievements and receive actual info literally on the go.

The Nike+ SportWatch GPS is a game-changing product that furthers our commitment to provide all athletes with unparalleled motivation and the tools to get better,” commented Stefan Olander, VP of Nike Digital Sport.

The new sport watch line is crafted with athletes’ needs in mind, since it provides all the data a runner needs while on the track. The vibrant watches, which are connected directly to the www.nikeplus.com hub, the international running community with nearly 4 million members, support a user during his or her training by displaying personalization and motivational data. The information includes such as audible sounds, challenges, recognition for personal achievements, encouragement, run reminders and more, on the easy-to-read tap screen. The watch gives runners updates on their time, distance, pace, heart rate and calories burned. The watch also works together with the shoe-based Nike+ Sensor, which delivers highly accurate pace and distance data.

The watch is available at $149 starting June 5—the line includes watches “in a spectrum of colors from classic black/anthracite to a high impact volt, including the stylish combination of anthracite and blue glow.”
