Škoda Invites the British to Become ‘Sleuths’

Škoda has kicked off a new integrative promotion in the UK , which is revolving around solving mysteries. The auto brand, which promoted its Fabia model with great ‘Cake’ and ‘Made of Meaner Stuff’ commercials by Fallon last year, teamed up with the agency again to launch the ‘Škoda Puzzle’ campaign as part of its TV sponsorship of the US Crime Drama on Channel 5.

The new campaign, which started on April 18 and will be running for 11 weeks, is rolling out on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, where the brads hosts the videos, which are key elements of the project with a ‘detective stories’ spirit.

The auto fans are encouraged to enter the long competition for a chance to win a new Fabia vRS—to get this, they must use the clues received throughout the competition to find the vehicle in early July. The idents, airing each Monday, were created in the style of detective drama and help the ‘detectives’ locate the virtual hidden car and, if they are lucky, receive it in the end of the campaign. They also can discuss their findings with other participants, ‘talk to’ Škoda Puzzle, as well as receive extra hints, clues and content, to get closer to exact location of the car on Google StreetView.

TV viewers will then have a chance to see the clue across all US Crime Drama on Channel 5 programming throughout the week. After solving the answer to the week’s puzzle, the participant must enter it on Škoda’s YouTube channel in order to progress to the next week of the trail,” stated the press release.
