It’s quite a usual thing for brands to release festive or commemorative editions when it comes to some big dates or holidays like the Royal Wedding or Christmas or any other notable occasion. But adidas decided to go further and created a new pack to pay tribute to a song—Run-DMC’s 1986 track My adidas, which has become the anthem of the sneaker brand. To pay tribute to the song about the iconic sneaker, which is celebrating 25th anniversary this year, the brand is releasing DMC x adidas Superstar ‘My adidas’ sneaker, which will cost $150, in just a few days—on 11.11.11 at 11 am PST at Shopadidas.com, adidas Originals Stores, and select adidas accounts.
Over 200 companies have already joined the 2C˚ Challenge Communiqué, a global initiative calling on governments to take action to keep the global rise in temperatures below two degrees Celsius. The initiative was launched in cities across the world by members of the Corporate Leaders’ Network for Climate Action (CLN).
After quite a long agitation from Greenpeace and its followers all around the world, H&M has agreed to publicize information about chemicals being released from its suppliers’ factories. The first round of information is due to be published by the end of 2012, and will include H&M’s key suppliers in China and other countries.
For the 12th consecutive time, adidas AG has been selected to join the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI), the world’s first global sustainability index family tracking the performance of the leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide. In the category «Clothing, Accessories & Footwear», adidas AG was rated as industry leader in sustainability issues and corporate responsibility for the 8th time.
