Lay’s, a brand of PepsiCo‘s Frito-Lay division, announced that it is using all natural ingredients to craft its Lay’s Kettle Cooked potato chips. To mark the roll out of these potato chips, four different carvers officially began crafting a Lay’s Kettle Cooked billboard made entirely from wood at the corner of Van Ness and Mission streets, the busiest intersection in San Francisco, Calif.

When it comes to advertising, big ticket items are being replaced by useful less expensive ones. Kantar Media research division of WPP reports that the first quarter showed increased spending for many food companies as compared to the same period in the prior year. Following the trend,  PepsiCo, the soft drink giant, estimates that $10 billion of its annual revenue of $43.2 billion last year was for products from the so named “good-for-you portfolio”.

PepsiCo launched an innovation incubator program called PepsiCo10, an open call for promising start-ups in media, communications and technology. In this unprecedented initiative, PepsiCo will select up to 10 aspiring entrepreneurial groups, match them with industry mentors, and join with them to activate pilot programs with PepsiCo brands.
