Target Presented Its Fall 2010 Clothing Collection with a Giant Kaleidoscopic Show in NYC

On August 18, Target arranged an unprecedented flashing disco light show, which was called «Kaleidoscopic Fashion Spectacular» to present its fall 2010 collection of clothes. 155 rooms on the southern façade of the huge Standard Hotel in NYC as well as the adjusting area were turned into giant dancing spots for the event.

The eye-catching project was developed by Mother New York. It featured 66 dancers, who were moving very synchronically in the windows for as long as 20 minutes to the original soundtrack by Squeak E. Clean, aka Sam Spiegel, recorded with a 30-piece orchestra and 10-member chorus. To make the whole thing even more impressive, at the very same time models in clothes from brands including Mossimo, Merona, Converse and Liz Lange were walking on scaffolding in front of the building. The show was open both to the guests of the hotels and public around.

Those, who were far from the spot and couldn’t hear the music, they could call a special number and hear the audio on their phone.

The whole thing was more like an alien disco than a conventional launch of the new lines, and this provides a reason to say that if such shows are now arranged, the recession is officially over. Some sources state that the cost of the show was around one million dollars, still to date Target representatives do not comment it.
