The Winner of BACARDI Superior Rum Legacy Cocktail Competition Announced

The winner of the BACARDI Superior Rum Global Legacy Cocktail Competition was announced at the event for professional bartenders hosted by BACARDI brand and held in the Oval Room of the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (MNAC) in Barcelona.

The winner, Marc Bonneton of France was selected from hundreds of contestants overall and 10 finalists from Belgium, France, Germany, India, Mexico, the Netherlands, Russia, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Séamus McBride, Bacardi Limited President & Chief Executive Officer, has commented “Throughout BACARDI history, from as far back as 1862 with the creation of BACARDI Superior, a spirit created to change the way alcohol was consumed and by whom, barriers to enjoying time with friends have been broken.  Cocktails no longer were mixed simply to mask the harsh-tasting alcohol of the time, but to be sippable and enjoyable. Thank you for contributing to this important legacy.”

Marco´s BACARDI Fizz, the winning cocktail mixed by Marc, will now become part of the legacy of BACARDI original cocktails, standing with the likes of other legendary drinks such as the BACARDI Mojito (1862), BACARDI Daiquiri (1898), BACARDI Cuba Libre (1900) and BACARDI Piña Colada (1922).

The BACARDI Superior rum Legacy Cocktail Competition has challenged the best contemporary bartenders in the world to create similarly balanced and appealing drinks in this classic style.
