Windows 8 Preview by Microsoft

Microsoft lately came up with a preview of its next operating system of Windows, which has been given the code name Windows 8 for now and set to run on both tablets and PCs. No date has been given for the release of Windows 8, but it might be available before October 2012. Right now demonstrations of Windows 8 running on tablets, phones and desktop computers were given at separate conferences in the U.S. and Taiwan. In order to introduce app to program developers, Microsoft will also host an event in California this September, named BUILD. So, curious software developers will be able to learn there «how to work with the all new touch-centric user experience to create fast, fluid, and dynamic applications

As it was expected, the newest software can be used via traditional mouse and keyboard or by gestures on a touch screen that was featured in a company promotional video. «Windows 8 is a reimagining of Windows, from the chip to the interface,» said Julie Larson-Green, Microsoft’s corporate vice president of Windows experience, in a blog post.

As you load up new programs and windows you can manipulate open tasks in interesting ways. To cycle between windows you simply touch your finger at the side of the screen, and swipe it inwards to lay the new tab on top. If you hold the floating tab for a few seconds, it’ll snap onto the side of the screen as a secondary window, reports www.bbc.co.uk.

It’s obvious, that the system has been designed first and foremost for trendy touch. Microsoft actually confirmed it. Probably a bit envious by Apple‘s success with iPad, Microsoft made its best not to be ‘out of the game’ on the market. Lets believe Microsoft’s UI designer, Jensen Harris, who said «… it’s gonna run on everything.» It’s a hope for those, who do not stay tuned up with all cool innovations coming up so often nowadays, to use new Windows version by more traditional methods, like the old-fashioned mouse.
