UK Consumer and Business Superbrands is an annual analysis conducted by The Centre for Brand Analysis and is aimed at researching the opinion of 2,000 adult citizens of UK. The point of the study is to analyse and present Top 10 list of brands in the United Kingdom according to British consumer and brand industry experts. The research initiators say, brands do not apply or pay to be considered for inclusion in top 10.

So, according to the unbiased opinion of 2,000 UK consumers, the TOP 10 Consumer brand chart in UK looks as follows:
1. Mercedes-Benz
2. Rolex
3. BBC
4. Coca-Cola
5. Google
6. Microsoft
7. BMW
8. British Airways
9. Apple
10. Jaguar

As we can see, the top 10 brand list is crowned by Mercedes-Benz, which has been in Top 5 list of the consumer brands for the last 5 years, but made it to the first place only in 2011.

This news was accepted with optimism and delightment at Mercedes-Benz. Wilfried Steffen, President and CEO Mercedes-Benz UK said: “Winning the Superbrands survey is very special for Mercedes-Benz, and I am delighted that we’ve achieved the coveted number one spot in our 125th year.  Everybody in the company is absolutely committed to delivering exceptional levels of customer service, and this survey result shows that these efforts are paying off, because the British public voted for us.  Winning Superbrands UK proves that Mercedes-Benz is as desirable now as it ever was, and throughout 2011 we will continue launching a wide range of innovative new products and customer service initiatives across the country».

The latest top 10 brand popularity chart indicates the growing interest of the British consumer in automotive brands with Mercedes-Benz being No1, BMW taking the seventh place, and Jaguar appearing on the 10th position. Meanwhile, the British show a little less interest in high-tech companies: this year, brands like Google and Microsoft that had been in the lead of consumer brands rating over the last 5 years, were pushed to the 5th and 6th place respectively.

As far as 2011 Business Superbrands list is concerned, it is crowned by Rolls-Royce Group plc—a global engineering company operating in a variety of markets, such as: aerospace, defence, marine and energy. Microsoft, Google, and Apple made it to the top 10 list of the brand list, which proves the same success of these companies both with consumers and experts in the United Kingdom.
