adidas Teamed up with Artists for the ‘Your Story’ Design Project

The sportswear brand adidas has tapped a plethora of artists for the new ‘Your Story’ project revolving around the previous Olympic Games events and the brightest Olympic memories. Back in May, the brand presented a video showcasing the first edition of the Consortium SS 2012 collection of shoes, decorated by the artists literally from a scratch—they were given blank shoes as canvas for visual artistic experiments. Now the brand unveils the second spot with the new line of sneakers upgraded by artists, who translated their impressions from previous Olympic competitions into the design of the adidas shoes.

With the globe turning its focus on the London 2012 Summer Olympic Games, we asked nine partners to take inspiration from their Olympic memories and translate them into designs for our new Consortium SS12 collection. We wiped the slate clean by giving them all-white models from the FW11 ‘Tabula Rasa’ range, which they’ve transformed into their own creative visions,” says the brand in the description to the second video.

For the project, adidas invited a range of visual artists including Kate Moross, Viktor Tell, Stefan Glerum, Jim Thompson and Kara Messina among others, who immortalized their Olympic Games memories in the unique collection of adidas shoes. The re-imagined designs include the vibrant renditions such as animal print against the black background, flamboyant pattern with tine triangles to name but a few. One of the styles was designed by adidas Originals team—it is a pair of white shoes with blue stripes and a blue element on the tongue.
