Corona Light to Display Its Facebook Fans Photos on the Times Square Billboard

Corona Light is going to feature some of its Facebook page’s fans on one of the most renowned ad space in the U.S., on the 40-foot-tall digital billboard on New York City’s Times Square. Through this promotion, which has been recently kicked off on its Facebook page, the Mexican beer brand is encouraging its consumers to share their photos (at least 500×500 pixels), which will be later displayed to public in NYC from November 8 to December 5.

The brand is asking to submit only the appropriate images of the whole body or close-ups (these are better), which do not feature aggressiveness, underage people or logos and alcohol (including the company’s one as well), through the Times Square app. So far, Corona Light has over 45,000 fans, and each of them has an opportunity to help make the brand “the most liked light beer in America.” The users can’t add images with their faces from the photo album on Facebook—to be featured on the billboard, they have to upload the still from their computer. The new campaign has been developed by digital agency Pereira & O’Dell.

For Corona Light consumers, having their picture projected high above one of the most famous places in the world is an exciting experience, and a fantastic way of engaging a street audience while rallying Corona Light’s brand ambassadors,” commented Jim Sabia, executive vice-president of marketing for Crown Imports, Corona Light’s exclusive U.S. importer.
