According to the latest study published by European Journal of Clinical Nutrition, DanActive by Danone can really cut the rate of minor infections by 19% in young children between three and six years old. The results also showed that children getting this treatment had two fewer illness over a three month period, with a larger reduction occurring in digestive sicknesses like nausea and diarrhea.
Kids that were attending daycare and mingling regularly with other children still got sick as they normally would be expected to at the rate of two to three times a month. Using the yogurt did not result in a reduction of missed days of school which was contrary to researchers expectation.
“Mixed” was the term used for these testing results by Daniel Mernstein, a Georgetown researcher, who conducted the study of 638 children.
Again, this trial will heat up the new stage of dicussion on Danone’s products as functional treatment.
