As only the second living artist, after Karl Lagerfeld, to have photographed a campaign for Dom PérignonDavid Lynch was given a privilege to come closer to the processes behind the luxurious spirit-maker and take a tour to the Abbey of Hautvillers, a location where Dom Pierre Pérignon first began experimenting to create champagne in the 17th century, reports Nowness.

The tour resulted in a series of original unusual photos created in a signature Lynch’s style. The creative process was videoed by Gavin Elder who transformed the shot material into a short film in which unparalleled visual presentation meets the sounds and comments from Lynch.

“David is somebody who is all about the pursuit of originality and experimentation, and that is what we wanted to get across in our film,” he says. “Lynch has such an interest in how sound marries with image; through that I feel we really accessed his approach.”

Lynch has created an experimental photo series illuminating the iconic label’s crest and a silhouetted bottle on the background of welding sparks, phosphorescent flames and lasers.

Last year Dom Perignon presented its Wedding, a collection of 12 bottles, which go along with the 13th one in a lacquered box featuring a unique silver label.
