Adidas Awards for ‘Keepy Uppy’ Efforts

The World Cup is in full swing and Adidas is challenging golf and football fans to capture their best ‘keepy uppy’ effort on video. As and official sponsor of FIFA World Cup 2010, Adidas has launched the “TOUR 360 Keepy Uppy Challenge” where consumers upload videos of family, friends or themselves kicking or heading a soccer ball in the air as many times in succession as possible.

To enter, people should go to the contest website and submit a 3-minute video (maximum), demonstrating their skills. Interestingly a competitor in the contest must be wearing Adidas branded golf shoes in this football-based spot. Also entrants must be at least 16 years old and from the UK or Ireland to be eligible and upload their ‘testimony’ by the 29th of August 2010.

The competition is based on entertainment, humor and creativity and not on how many times someone can kick a ball in the air. Two winners will be selected each Monday out of all the submissions that week. Sergio Garcia, the internationally famous golf player is a spokesman for the contest and a judge for one of the prizes each time.

Weekly champions will have a choice between a pair of Tour360 golf shoes and a JABULANI football. At the end of the challenge, a grand champion video will be chosen by Garcia and a panel of judges winning a pair of Tour360 golf shoes autographed by Sergio, a JO’BULANI Adidas football (official ball of the World Cup underway in South Africa) also signed by the golf superstar, and Adidas golf shoes, clothing and equipment up to a value of £1,000.

On the site, viewers can watch videos all of the entertaining efforts of ‘keepy uppy’ including golf stars Garcia, Matt Dawson and Tim Henman.
