Kraft Macaroni & Cheese Turns Tweets into TV Ads

Not so long ago we reported that Kraft was getting consumers to Tweet about its Macaroni and Cheese Product to get it to one of the top Twitter trends. So, three weeks later we have another unexpected news to report: the food giant shoots TV ads based on the user Tweets posted in course of the Mac & Jinx campaign.

All the videos produced to date may be viewed on Kraft’s Macaroni & Cheese Facebook fan-page. As always, Crispin Porter + Bogusky came up with a bunch of funny ideas. Based on the most intriguing Tweets, the producers of ‘MAC & CHEESE TV’ (a channel where the ads are broadcast) came up with their own funny version of the events that resulted in the tweet.

For instance, a tweet saying «Jack’s request for his first meal back in the US …» inspired the following funny video:

Another Tweet posted by ColinDeval reads «Sunday nights are for mac and cheese». ‘Mac and Cheese TV’ thought that these could be a perfect reason to pretend dying and call of one’s family and friends to join him for a plate of Mac & Cheese on a Sunday Night.

Another funny Tweet «Eating mac n cheese cause I cnt sleep» made the ad producers think of what happens to the one if they see a plate of Mac & Cheese in their dream.

So far there are only three out of 5 commercials that Kraft plan to write and shoot in cooperation with Crispin Porter + Bogusky.

Noelle O’Mara, senior brand manager at Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, told in an interview to Mashable.com that if the campaign is success, Kraft intends to repeat it. She said, the campaign is interesting to the brand since it has proved the great power of real-time marketing.
