For the second time (following the last year’s Pepsi Throwback) PepsiCo Inc. is trying to bring back to life the new ‘retro campaign’. This time it is titled Mountain Dew Throwback after the famouse Mountain Dew brand.
Containing real sugar (not artificial sweeteners, which became so popular recently), the campaign reminds those days of summer camping, disco parties, TV dinners on Friday nights followed up by a late night of 8-bit gaming to young Americans (SoCal kids), who know who the Willy the Hillbilly is.
The new limited edition Mountain Dew Throwback will be available for 8 weeks in US only, in a format of cans (12 in a pack) and 20-ounce bottles featuring the Willy mascot on the labels.
In addition to this retro insired campaign, the special creative contest Threadless Loves Throwback was launched. From 18 Novamber till 9 December you can participate in a competition for the best T-shirt MTN Dew design. Your design could be your invitation to join the roster of designers responsible for creating the Mountain Dew Throwback gear lineup (think custom skate decks and artist-series screen prints!) Plus, Mountain Dew is awarding you with the ultimate cache of limited-edition Throwback gear and enough liquid goodness to keep you fueled for an entire year!
