The literally massive project features a 535-square-foot London re-creation constructed at the Walmart located at 7011 Main St., American Canyon, California. Visitors are able to explore iconic London places of interest and symbols including Big Ben, the London Eye and red double-decker buses. Meanwhile, those who direct to the UK’s capital to watch the Games live can discover the city landmarks using Virgin Atlantic London Guide app.

P&G and Walmart’s common project was constructed just in 36 hours by a crew of eight people and opened on July 28. The replicas presented include the 21-foot-tall Big Ben with a working clock in the tower that chimes every 15 minutes; the rotating 18-foot London Eye; and three 8-foot-tall double-decker buses, two featuring front window-mounted television screens airing P&G Olympic Games-themed commercials. The replicas are accompanied by educational maps for exploration and self-guided tours.

The exhibit also features Olympic Games-branded P&G products. Customers can buy these products right at the display. As a Worldwide Olympics partner, P&G has been running the Thank You Mom campaign for several months. The exhibit is open at the American Canyon store until August 10 24 hours a day.

“The display celebrates our dedicated athletes and creates a unique in-store shopping event that customers will remember for years to come,” said Stuart Heflin, P&G’s brand manager, Walmart Global Consumer Team. “P&G is behind the Olympic Games and our athletes 100 percent. We want to give people who can’t travel to Europe the opportunity to feel some of the excitement of the Games here at home.”
