Schweppes, Leopards and Chaos

Coca-Cola’s Schweppes has kicked off a new TV campaign featuring an average family, who seem to have nerves of steel and undestroyable positive attitude towards all the mess going on around. The new ads, created by Mother, are revolving around optimism and feature the phrase «At the end of the day, there’s always a Schweppes,» which serves as the campaign’s strapline.

The first tongue-in-cheek spot, which is to be aired today, July 12, features a middle-aged couple, who have enjoyed a quiet life in the suburbs until their daughter, Sarah, brought a not very friendly leopard home to turn the wild animal into a pet. When father comes home, the interiors (as well as the rest of the family) look miserable with the furniture broken into pieces and fabric torn up all around the room. Still, there’s no reason to be »diving into depths of dark despair’ since chilled Schweppes is here.

«This new campaign injects a modern twist onto the distinctly British heritage of Schweppes, reaffirming the brands tradition for iconic, humorous ads. We hope to amuse viewers by amplifying situations that they can relate to, showcasing a Keep Calm and Carry On mentality towards exaggerated daily occurrences,» comments Shelley Norris, senior brand manager for Schweppes.
