Sibling Rivalry in a New Stella Artois’s Advert

Stella Artois is continuing its campaign, revolving around the style of the French 60-ies and the recently adopted slogan “She is a thing of beauty.” Recently, the brand released an advert “Names” about things and their names, which was all resonating with the tagline, and now the iconic beer brand is launching another spot, which is less relevant to the theme, but is still quite interesting as it promotes one of the biggest events, arranged by Stella.

In the video two brothers, Claude and Pierre, are competing in cooking, jumping a rope, building card houses and things like that, with each of them dominating in one of the areas. Still, when it comes to pouring Stella Artois for the beautiful lady, who comes to have a dinner at their restaurant, it turns out that both of the siblings are perfect at filling a fine glass of beer for the pretty client, and she just can’t choose, from which of the trays she wants to take her beer, both of the glasses are “a thing of beauty”. The voiceover has a heavy French accent, and it seems that the girl’s phrase “Stella Artois, s’il vous plaît” is the most understandable one in the whole English-language advert. The commercial was created by the Mother London agency, which has developed the whole ‘retro’ campaign for the brand.

The new spot is released primarily to promote the upcoming World Draught Masters Championship, an international annual event arranged by Stella Artois, which is heralding the importance of the 9-Step Pouring Ritual. The 2010 year’s competition of bartenders, which is slated for October 28, will be hosted in London, and last year it was arranged in New York.
