Sony Tells a ‘Panoramic Story’ of One Journey across Europe

Sony goes on impressing public with bold and creative initiatives, focused on the same theme ‘Make.Believe,’ which also serves as the brand’s slogan. The brand teamed up with the Paris-based agency RAPP to develop a new project, which was designed to highlight the possibilities of the compact digital Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX5V camera. The creative team launched a project entitled ‘Panoramic Story’ to feature bright and stunning stills in a new engaging way.

It’s not a regular gallery with pictures placed one after another—it’s a journey of two photographers, who were moving towards each other to meet in the center of their route. The photographers are Lucie from Paris and Simon from Germany, who working together (or not just that) since 2005. They are completely different (for example, she loves paintings by René Magritte and he adores artworks by Eugène Delacroix), but still they have a lot in common and wanted to show this. The creative minds embarked on a journey across Europe to meet in one place, on Lake Balaton, and tell everybody about their expedition by rendering the emotions they experienced during the trip (so, the pics are rather sensual than informational).

They documented their traveling adventure, which started in Paris (for Lucie) and in Istanbul (for Simon), in marvelous panoramic photos, somewhat romantic, telling viewers about the artists’ perceptions of the world. On the whole, the duo visited 7 counties, covered 4,235 km and took 6,381 shots, only 70, the best ones, of them to be featured on the website, which was launched in November, 2010. The hub of the hilarious project, www.panoramic-story.fr, became the FWA’s Site of the Day on January 16.
