Stella Artois Finds its Second Jacques D’Azur

After closing its casting contest, Stella Artois has announced the name of the winner who is appointed to play Jacques D’Azur, msn.com reports. The lucky winner is Gustavo Alvarez from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

He  will be commissioned to play the part of Stella Artois’s icon in a biopic that will be shot in Uruguay at the end of April and present the movie at Cannes festival in 2011.

Gustavo, who resides in Argentina and works as an agricultural engineer, said, «I couldn’t believe that I had been chosen to play such a fantastic part, although the pressure is now on to do this role justice. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I can’t wait to get started!»

The casting call was announced in March 2011 by Stella Artois as the brand was on the look out for male and female actors who would fit for the role of Jacques D’Azur or one of his ladies. Gustavo was chosen by professional jury and online public voting out of thousands of candidates.

After filming his part in the Jacques d’Azur biopic, Gustavo will attend the short film premiere slated for May 20 in the French Riviera. The event will be followed by a party at ‘Chez Jacques’ – the invitation-only lounge at the Carlton Hotel’s beachfront property in Cannes owned by Stella Artois.

Jacques D’Azur who, according to Stella Artois, was «French film producer/director/actor/tennis player/chess master/ backgammon champion/waterskiing pioneer and full time bon-vivant« is known globally as a fictioned ambassador of Stella Artois. This year, according to the beer brand, he went missing after he had found an island populated with beautiful women in the Pacific Ocean.
