Target Uses Facebook to be Personal Stylist

Target is using their Facebook page to let consumers interact and share styles online. The application, “Merona. my look maker,” gives viewers the opportunity to virtually put together stylish looks from the titled line and share them with others.

The website, created by the AKQA digital agency, targets women 35 years old and up. As the merchandise for the brand in the stores is everchanging, so is the selection on the page, reflecting what is currently available.

Once a viewer develops their choices for a look that appeals to them, he or she is able to share the creation with their friends. Visitors can also be connected to www.target.com and purchase what has just been put together.

To promote this application, the company is utilizing ads and alerts on Facebook andTwitter, and a feature in the line’s section on their own website.
