Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic to Revisit New York on June 5

Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, an opulent festivity bringing champagne and charity together, will take place on Governors Island, NY, on June 05. All New Yorkers are welcome to join this celebration for free. This year, Veuve Clicquot has designated the major part of the playfield for general public, which means there will be plenty of space for picnics, champagne and just mingling.

The brand will install a number of merchandise tents offering a variety of picnic essentials and Veuve Clicquot items such as blankets, hats, polo shirts, umbrellas, sunglasses, etc.

More than that, in 2011, the brand will introduce a new addition to its summer event, Veuve Clicquot Lounges where visitors will be treated with champagne and an impressive choice of gourmet snacks developed by Gabriel Kreuther, Executive Chef of The Modern.

The fourth Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic event will benefit Hope Help & Rebuild Haiti, a division of Donna Karan‘s Urban Zen initiative. Aside from Ms. Karan, Mark Jacobs has agreed to join the event as a co-host for charity.

Nacho Figueras, a professional polo player (and the face of Ralph Lauren) who is one of the key figures of the event, said to Wall Stree Journal, that the charitable component of the endeavour «will bring a whole new energy to the event and new people. We can do something great and something that touches America. The event has been growing solidly for the last few years, and we finally have something very solid.»
