BMW Presents the Olympics 2012 iPad Magazine

The biggest and most awaited event of the next year is the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and the brands, which sponsor the international competition, have already started their preparation for it by rolling out dedicated campaigns like Cadbury or previewing new vehicles like BMW. The auto giant, which is the top-tier sponsor of the event, is not only going to provide the fleet of 4,000 cars, bicycles and motorcycles for the athletes and officials, it is also offering the public an opportunity to know more about the event and athletes by releasing the Olympics 2012 iPad magazine app.

In addition to highlighting the ways in which BMW is helping London 2012 deliver a sustainable Games, the magazine also shines a light on the numerous British athletes we’re supporting as they prepare for what promises to be the most memorable moments of their sporting careers,” says Nicola Green, CRM communications manager for BMW UK.

The free application, which will also be available for Android devices in the coming months, was released on November 24. It features exclusive profiles and interviews from athletes including swimmer Rebecca Adlington, canoeist Tim Branbats, and wheelchair racer David Weir, and footage from their training sessions. “In this issue, we discover what leading athletes consider to be their ultimate performance and what moments make the difference in the heat of competition,” says the description to the interactive app on iTunes. The issue opens with a stunning piece of photography, a BMWcar in a sunset over the Olympic Stadium, which was short specially for this BMW London 2012 iMagazine edition.

The digital magazine also includes interviews with “two more seasoned competitors,” javelin thrower Steve Backley and rower James Cracknell (he is also the issue’s editor), who are talking about sports. In addition to that, the magazine readers will find there profiles of selected BMW London 2012 Performance Team members and will find out what cars they have and drive, and learn how the auto giant is going realize its plan of providing London 2012 with a fleet of branded vehicles.
