Budweiser Has Launched a World Cup TV Ad

Budweiser is also getting ready for the biggest event in the football world. The brand has launched a TV ad ahead of the World Cup in South Africa to keep the fans and players inspired and give them more fire to fight for the victory and support.

The spot “Swap” is developed by DDB and features two footballers of rivals teams — Brazilian and Paraguayan footballers — exchanging the tees, when the match is over. This encourages the people around to start swapping their personal things with each other. In the end a lady in the bar asks one man to swap her drink with his Budweiser. The bartender then gives the man a new bottle of Budweiser to make the exchange fair (the woman had a cocktail).

The campaign will be supported by a sweepstake and games, which will appear on www.budweiser.co.uk microsite.

This spot will be followed by a new one (it will be rather a new version, than a sequel) next month, just in time for the World Cup’s start. This commercial is finished with a phrase «Budweiser United — Official beer of the FIFA World Cup«.
