A month ago, on January 31 the world first heard the song by Akon and Keri Hilson, which became the anthem of the football campaign launched by Pepsi. From the Grammy Awards the single «Oh, Africa» stepped onto the digital ground and just recently the brand has released a commercial with the song as a soundtrack.
The aim of the project is to help the underprivileged African youth, and it is designed to link the great event — this year’s World Cup — with the charity initiative to help raise more money for the social case. The new commercial, which became the official spot of the campaign, features football celebrities Thierry Henry, Kaka, Andrei Arshavin, Frank Lampard, Lionel Messi and Didier Drogba.
In the video the footballers play on the field, which is bordered with local people. It is not that easy to score a goal as the live-barrier is reacting to the movements of the players and constantly moves back and forth. After the game, the stars give their shirts to the kids and get Pepsi Max cans in return.
