PepsiCo’s functional drink Gatorade, which is known for its campaigns featuring A-list athletes, has launched the ‘Replay’ promotion in Australia dedicated to bringing back the favourite sporting moments of its consumers. Apparently, the drink is not only good for body, but also has a positive influence on memory—those, who want to share their recollection on the hilarious episodes from their sports life, are invited to visit the www.gatoradereplay.com.au website where they can upload their stories.
As part of the campaign, developed by DDB and PHD and coming as the follow-up of the brand’s similar U.S. project, the sporting moments can be replayed either in video and audio or text formats—the submission period is running from April 4 through June 26, with the winners being announced every week. Within these weeks, the brand will be giving away $10,000 in prize money each week and PUMA sportsgear on a daily basis.
Melanie Kay, executive director at PHD, commented that the goal of the promotion is “find a different way to engage with consumers”. The campaign also features Gatorade brand ambassadors Australian footballer Tim Cahill and cricketer Mitchell Johnson will soon be telling “about moments in their career they would Replay given the chance” on the website of the campaign.
