It seems that people on the internet prefer a good cup of coffee. At least that is what the results of a recent survey conducted on social media suggests about Starbucks.
Famecount, in a survey taking place on social media conducted on June 2nd compared consumer brands against Lady Gaga, the most popular personal brand. The study was of followers and subscribers of popular brands on three of the largest social networking sites Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
Based on the results of this survey, Starbucks, the famous coffee giant from Seattle, is the biggest consumer brand on the internet. With 7.5 million Facebook fans, about a million Twitter followers and 6,000 plus YouTube subscribers, Starbucks scored a 69.18 (Lady Gaga is 100) in the study.
Coming in second to Starbucks was Coca-Cola, the soft drink magnate scoring 53.02. Also in the top ten were brands like Skittles, Red Bull, Oreo and Dell. Of the top ten, only Red Bull was not a US based brand.
