To celebrate its 40th anniversary in France, WWF (The World Wide Fund for Nature) has launched an imaginative project revolving around the use of fur. Marcel and Publicis Argentina developed a campaign, World Wonder Fur, featuring three “certified 100% imaginary” animals that give away their fur in a totally non-violent way. The initiative includes a scroll-down website, prints, two faux nature documentary spots directed by Brent Harris, and a collection of real clothing and accessories «made of» the fur of the imaginative «world’s new species.»
The Italian fashion house Versace is unveiling a new collection of luxury furniture pieces in its new promotion, rolling across multiple channels. Acclaimed LA-based artists and designers Nikolas and Simon Haas have created a range of lavish Versace Home pieces for those who adore the opulent merge of gold and leather. The brand’s creative partnership has been described on Facebook page and Versace’s website that feature photos from the capsule collection’s launch and hi-res images of the pieces.
While Louis Vuitton’s promotional video by Love Magazine, starring models as prostitutes, is rising a wave of criticism among female rights activists, the latest activity from British fashion designer Vivienne Westwood contributes to the positive change in the women’s world. The fashion label has raised awareness about domestic violence against women using the window display at its flagship store in Milan. The displays featured mannequins with bruises all over their white plastic bodies to inspire female victims to break the silence.
The fashion giant Saint Laurent (previously Yves Saint Laurent) has released a portrait series to celebrate its long-term relationship with the world of rock music. These two dimensions don’t seem to belong to the same universe, but in fact the leading artists from the rock field adore fashion labels and vice versa. This deep connection was reflected in the Saint Laurent Music Project, photographed by the house’s creative director Hedi Slimane. The series includes black-and-white images featuring rock icons including Marilyn Manson, Kim Gordon (of Sonic Youth), Courtney Love, and Ariel Pink.
