Virgin Atlantic Hires People with Superhuman Skills, as It States in New Global Campaign

Virgin Group launches a new global advertising campaign for its Virgin Atlantic Airlines. Entitled «Flying in the Face of Ordinary,” the new promotion pays tribute to the unique, superhuman talents of its staff. The airline has launched a glamorous cinematic ad, in which it showcases youngsters with nearly super-power skills, who become Virgin Atlantic’s staff as they grow up.

The RKCR/Y&R‘s ad, which kicked off the multi-million campaign launched internationally on December 29, explains how the airline manages to deliver ultimately refined services. As it turns out, it’s because the company has extraordinary employees—staff of crew, designers, pilots and others,—who can give passengers something a few seconds before they actually need it, catch the falling things lightning-fast, like a jongleur, or design most comfortable folding seats and many more. The spot is inspired by real people working for the company—meet them in another film, “Born to Fly,” below.

The new advertising push coincides with the airline’s expansion—the company is now opening a domestic flying program in the UK and hiring 150 new staff for this launch. So, the ad is kind of a list of requirements for candidates who want to work for the company—to join the team, they definitely should have some superhuman skills essential to provide passengers with “a welcome splash of red in a weary world of grey.

We’re always on the lookout for gifted people to grow our business. Our staff hold the keys to the future of Virgin Atlantic; they work so hard, and we are delighted to dedicate this new advert to them,” commented sir Richard Branson, President of Virgin Atlantic in a press note. “Our advertisement is a powerful New Year message encouraging everyone to look again at young people and the talents they have to offer to businesses and industries all over the country. People are at the heart of Virgin Atlantic and this campaign celebrates them.”
